Here's why Jeremy Roloff is fasting

"Little People Big World" star Jeremy Roloff announced that he would be fasting and his fans have questions.

Roloff explained on Instagram earlier this week that everyone "has their own reason" for doing it, and his is two-fold.

Read more on our Twitter account, @amomama_usa. His post can be viewed below. He added:

"[My reason] was for general health reasons, but I ended up getting much more than I set out for. I have been intermittent fasting since January 1st of 2018."

He added that intermittent fasting is a lifestyle change but also a change that "dominates the stomach."

It is not so much about what he eats at the moment, as when he eats. Roloff told his followers: "The moment I began controlling my stomach, things began to change."

This is an announcement concerning Jeremy Roloff and his family specifically: After 14 years, over 300 episodes, and 17 seasons, the time has come. A year ago I made the decision that this season would be our last. It has been an amazing run, and I can’t say thank you enough to all of you who have watched and supported us along the ride. We have the most loyal fans on TV and we appreciate every one of you. You are what made doing this so fun.🙏🏼 We will still be supporting the family as they carry the #LPBW torch onward. This is a decision concerning Audrey and me specifically - the show must go on! That being said, we’re not disappearing. We have a lot of exciting stuff in the works and are eager to continue the work that the Lord has called us to! Again, we thank you, and always enjoy when we get a chance to meet one of you. Whether it be in the airport, on the street, at pumpkin season or at one of our upcoming Beating50percent events! THANK YOU for all the love and support. Your messages, comments, gifts, and mail are noticed and appreciated. ❤️You guys are the best. Thank you for respecting our decision. I also want to give a big thank you to the team at TLC. Thanks for putting up with us;) You’ve provided us with a grand opportunity and for that we are forever grateful. *you can watch the video on my IGTV. Under the mercy, -Jeremy

Through the changes, he "went from slave to master" and this began to manifest in other areas of his life as well, not just his eating habits.

Daily practices that use to weigh him down before are now pleasurable, and he gets up easier in the mornings. No more snooze button preventing him from living his best life.

Raise your hand if you’ve asked me where my ring is from! 👋🏼 Haha. No but seriously, I get asked several times a week. The company is @QALO and we have been fans of them for years as their values align with ours - family, commitment, and the outdoors. 🏕 Who has a #QALOring !? 🙌🏼 We’re super stoked because they just launched their NEW family collection, featuring these teething necklaces and blankets. (Swipe right or check out my stories) Ember is teething hardcore and has been chewing on anything and everything she can get her hands on. It’s been nice to finally have something that I don’t drop. 😂 (it’s a break-free necklace) Shes been loving it and I have too so far because it keeps her happy while I’m in conversation or focusing. They’re customizable too! You can check them out at Also, Cody at QALO gave me the hookup for you guys. Use code: ROLOFF15 for 15% off! #ad #QALOfamily 📷: @audreyroloff

He added: "The discipline needed to choose not only what I eat, but when I eat has multiplied. I feel more free and in control."

Roloff explained that freedom always follows discipline, and discipline is the secret to seizing the day.

The father-of-one runs a website with his wife Audrey in his spare time, dedicated to strengthening Christian marriages.

The couple share daughter Ember Jean Roloff, who celebrated her first birthday back in September.

Folks are asking “why?” And it’s not why am I wearing plaid on plaid here like an OG, but why am I intermittent fasting? Everyone has their own reason to do it; mine was for general health reasons, but I ended up getting much more than I set out for. I have been intermittent fasting since January 1st of 2018. IF is a lifestyle change and one that dominates the stomach. Instead of worrying so much about what you eat - although that’s still vitally important - it’s more about when you eat. There’s more to it than that with immense research behind this as it’s nothing new, but rather an ancient practice. A quick google search will tell you all you need to know about it. The moment I began controlling my stomach, things began to change. I went from slave to master and this began manifesting elsewhere. The morning snooze button no longer had it’s spell on me. Having a consistent morning reading rhythm no longer seemed daunting, but rather exciting. Daily practices that seemed difficult are easier along with saying “no” to temptations. The discipline needed to choose not only what I eat, but when I eat has multiplied. I feel more free and in control, and it’s through this discipline that I’ve found freedom. Freedom always follows discipline. Discipline is how we are able to Carpe diem - seize the day. Where might you be more disciplined in order to unlock the potential of freedom?

Soon after her birth, Roloff said on Instagram that welcoming his daughter was the catalyst to what he calls his "dying-to-self moment."

"Yesterday I had a dying to self-moment. The realization that my life is not about me."

We turned in our manuscript edits last week🎉Jeremy left for his grandpas birthday in California, while I stayed in Oregon with Ember because I was in my sweet friend’s wedding-and Ember got to be an honorary flower girl 🌸 That means... I had Ember all to myself the past few days with no looming work deadlines!!! It has been so refreshing to just spend some time on the ground with my girl (and in the pool 😜she loves the water!) I am marveling at how much her personality is starting to come out lately. Here I am saying again (and probably later), this stage is my favorite😻Can’t quite walk on her own, eating all the things, mimicking like crazy, giving slobbery kisses, sleeping like a champ, waving and clapping all the time and watching my every move! #emberjean pc: @jeremyroloff

Roloff realized the importance of focusing on holiness instead of happiness. He backed it up with Jesus' words: "He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

He said that if he focuses on happiness, a selfish endeavor, he might lose happiness and holiness. Instead, he'll focus on holiness, with the faith that happiness will follow.
