Beyoncé Pays Respect to Late Rapper Nipsey Hussle in Moving Post
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has joined a growing list of celebrities paying tribute to the late rapper, Nipsey Hussle, who died from gunshot wounds on Sunday.
Hussle’s tragic death left the entire music industry in shock and Beyoncé, whose husband Jay-Z, was known to be on good terms with the late rapper, is also mourning.
Taking to Instagram, the “Everything Is Love” singer shared a throwback picture of little Hussle and wrote:
“I’m praying with every ounce of my heart for your family. Rest In Peace, Nipsey.”
In 2013, Hussle gave a shout-out to Jay-Z on Twitter after the music mogul purchased 100 copies of his “Crenshaw” mixtape that sold for $100 per hard copy.
Hussle and his actress girlfriend, Lauren London, were also one of the guests at Bey and Jay’s Roc Nation Grammy Brunch in February.
TRAGIC END & A PAINFUL IRONY
Hussle succumbed to his injuries after getting shot multiple times outside his LA clothing store “The Marathon” on Sunday Mach 31. The Grammy-nominated “Victory Lap” rapper was said to be one of three men shot during the attack, but the others are in a stable condition.
Ironically, Hussle, whose birth name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom, had planned to meet with the Los Angeles Police Department today for a discussion on how to end gang violence.
We (@LAPDChiefMoore and I ) were meeting , at the request of @NipseyHussle with him and @rocnation tomorrow at 4pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I’m so very sad https://t.co/rcGtvw9c6L— Steve Soboroff (@SteveSoboroff) April 1, 2019
Music artists and Hollywood stars have been eulogizing the late rapper since news broke of his tragic death. Rihanna was one of the first to do so on Twitter where she confessed that her spirit is “shaken:”
“This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! I’m so sorry this happened to you @nipseyhussle”
In a heartbreaking Instagram post, fellow rapper Drake also revealed that he and Hussle had been planning to work together on some new music.

“My whole energy is just at a low right now hearing this. We just linked for the first time in years and said we were gonna do a new song this summer cause it had been too long,” wrote the “God’s Plan” rapper. “You were having the best run, and I was so happy watching from distance fam. Nobody ever talks down on your name, and you were a real one to your people and to the rest of us.”
Pharrell Williams, in a Twitter tribute, also said Hussle was “about something. …positive and for your community in every chance you had to speak, and because of that, You inspired millions. …millions who will uphold your legacy forever.”
HUSSLE'S GLOWING LEGACY
Rapper J Cole echoed Williams’ words, saying:
“Nipsey you a legend. I respect and admire your career path and what you did for the neighborhood. ‘My heart broke today when I saw the news. I’m praying for your loved ones. This was sposed to be the year we got one in. God had bigger plans for you.”
Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith also described the late rapper as a man of “wisdom” and urged his longtime partner, London to “stay strong.”
Besides London, 34, Hussle leaves behind two children -- his two-year-old son with London and a seven-year-old daughter, Emani, from a previous relationship. Hussle was aged 33.
Rest In Peace, Nipsey Hussle.
