Meghan McCain of 'The View' Recalls Living in Hollywood in Her 20s and Getting Drunk Tattoos on the Sunset Strip
Meghan McCain took fans on a wild trip down memory lane as she recalled her old life in Hollywood.
"The View" co-host Meghan McCain took Throwback Thursday to a whole other level!
Yesterday, the 34-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and good friend Josh Rupley enjoying themselves in what seemed like nightclub life, as reported by PEOPLE.
The daughter of the late Senator John McCain was sipping a drink, and she looked stared fiercely at the camera while her partner was giving a thumbs up.
In the caption of the post, the talk show host gave candid details of the time she lived in Los Angeles and was on a wild ride.
The lengthy message began:
"[Josh Rupley] with the green hair, me with the pink. I was living in Hollywood in what could best be described as the ultimate bachelorette loft with a balcony that looked directly at the Capitol Records building on Hollywood and vine."

#TBT - @joshrupley with the green hair, me with the pink. I was living in Hollywood in what could best be described as the ultimate bachelorette loft with a balcony that looked directly at the Capitol records building on Hollywood and vine. I had giant gold angel wings in my living room, lots of blue velvet and 70’s gold mirrored furniture and a closet bigger than my bedroom. I wanted my place to look like “Graceland meets Scarface” (seriously google it, my place was amazing and I did a spread in refinery 29 showing it off). My neighbors were actors, porn stars and vine stars. I went to every SINGLE club and kitschy bar in LA, went on dates with the weirdest, creative, eccentric and also the most deeply dysfunctional men (there’s a special breed I personally found to subsist in LA) who all thought me being a republican made me some endangered creature from another planet but were curious nonetheless. They always took me to the Sunset Tower restaurant for a first date. Josh and I got drunk tattoos on the sunset strip, I co-hosted the all time most fun and wild daily tv show I’ll ever work on (with the truly the most creative people I’ve ever met). We drove to Palm Springs on the weekends, stayed up all night dancing at every gay bar but always ended the night at the Gold Coast, drove to Malibu on Sundays, I threw an over the top 30th Birthday Party for myself at both the Chateau Mormont AND the sunset marquis for the after, after party. I have so many hundreds of crazy/beautiful memories than I could possibly write out on an Instagram post. Some that I’ll never, ever share ;) - nor will Josh so don’t even try, he’s a vault. I think I had more fun in my twenties than absolutely anyone else in all of media (at least political). I am grateful for a ride or die friend @joshrupley who has known me through every incarnation of my life. I agree with the adage that everyone should live in LA once before it makes you soft and NYC once before it makes you hard. There are many photos documenting this particular moment in time you can find skewed all over the internet. Also for everyone who ever called me an ice queen - you never really got the chance to know me.💗🌴💗🌴
She continued describing her apartment at the time, saying it had a giant gold angel wings in the living room and a 70s gold mirrored furniture. McCain explained that she did all that because she wanted her apartment to look like "Graceland meets Scarface."
During that time, Meghan's neighbors were "actors, porn stars, and vine stars."
Her life in LA was not void of escapades as she confessed to attending every single club and went on dates with the "weirdest, creative, eccentric, and also the most deeply dysfunctional men."
She also revealed that for her 30th birthday, she threw a party for herself at both the Chateau Marmont and Sunset Marquis.
Admitting that her 20s were the best time of her life, the author of "My Dad, John McCain" wrote:
"I think I had more fun in my twenties than absolutely anyone else in all of media (at least political)."
She ended her post thanking her best pal Rupley for being her "ride or die."
"I go in, assuming I'm going to be fired every day."
Luckily, that has never happened since she joined the show as a host three seasons ago.
