Dr Oz Shares Healthy Brunch Recipe Amid Breakfast Feud with Mark Wahlberg
Dr. Oz makes his latest move in yet another shot directed towards actor Mark Wahlberg. The pair's breakfast feud has been ongoing for nearly two weeks now.
When Dr. Mehmet Oz, 59, first encouraged fans to make skipping breakfast part of their New Year's resolution over a week ago, he probably didn't expect much backlash.
However, the celebrity doctor who hosts the popular show, "Dr. Oz," was up to the challenge when Mark Wahlberg came along. His latest jab at the actor is found below.
Dr. Oz shares brunch recipe
On Monday, Dr. Oz took to Instagram and displayed a mouth-watering meal for his followers to try out themselves. He included the recipe and preparation video for the healthy treat.
"I've canceled breakfast... but not brunch!" the cardiothoracic surgeon wrote in his caption. The words were in line with Oz's initial suggestion given in an interview with TMZ.
At the time, Oz insisted that the age-old saying breakfast is the most important meal of the day was an "advertising ploy." He advised people to eat when they get hungry and practice intermittent fasting.
Mark starts the friendly debate
A day later, the outlet also interviewed Mark Wahlberg, 48, and asked for his take on the doctor's advice. The "Daddy's Home" actor sternly voiced his disagreement, dismissing Oz's remarks.
He later uploaded a lengthy video clip to Instagram that featured his friend Dr. Christopher Vincent who has opposing views to his fellow doctor. "You don't want this smoke, trust me," Wahlberg warned.
Dr. Oz hits back with impressive workout
Dr. Oz responded by presenting a challenge to mark. He took to Instagram and shared a video clip of him doing one-legged pushups. Wahlberg commented with a side-eye emoji.
Fans of the famous doctor also commented, praising him for his looks and strength at his fairly advanced age. Indeed, pushups at any age are no easy task.
While fans were impressed with Oz's workout, they may have also enjoyed the shirtless video Wahlberg shared as his comeback. The playful back and forth between the two delighted fans.
Fans get more serious advice
He also addressed Wahlberg, saying, "Mark has bought into the dogma of breakfast." He continued to claim that a daily breakfast isn't rooted in medicine.
What people should do, said Dr. Oz, is skip breakfast, work out as much as one is able, and, as a result, burn fat rather than the food they just ate. That should reap better results.

If anything, Dr. Oz's latest brunch suggestion certainly can't be a bad thing. With ingredients like chickpeas and broccoli, who can argue with that? What's your take on the debate?
