Olivia Newton-John & 'Grease' Costar John Travolta Attend G'Day USA Gala to Raise Money for Australia Fire Relief

On Saturday, several actors, musicians, and other celebrities attended the annual G’Day USA dinner. The event’s main focus this year was to raise funds for the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund and Australian Wildlife Fund.

Actors Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta were on hand at the Beverly Wilshire on Saturday night to help raise money for Australia to help fight the wildfires the country has been facing. Also in attendance was singer Tottie Goldsmith, who arrived with her aunt, Newton-John.

The producer for “Big Little Lies,” Bruna Papandrea also attended the event. The G’Day USA dinner was hosted by actor Hugh Sheridan.

How guests could donate to the relief efforts

Sheridan began the evening by asking for a moment of silence for the firefighters who had lost their lives fighting the blazes. Attendees were asked to either directly donate to either fund or participate in a silent auction.

Prizes that were up for grabs during the event included a VIP experience to Hugh Jackman’s Broadway show “The Music Man.” The guests also had a chance to attend the New York premiere of Nicole Kidman’s newest HBO series, “The Undoing.”

Delta Goodrem’s performance at the gala

The evening also had some entertainment in the form of Delta Goodrem who performed her song “Let It Rain.” The song is dedicated to the tragedy with all proceeds from it going to a bushfire relief fund.

While Goodrem performed, the screens next to her showed images and videos of the devastated land. Footage of rescued animals was projected on the screens.

Keo Motsepe & Sharna Burgess at the event

Besides Goodrem’s somber performance, the evening also had some uplifting entertainment. Paulini took to the stage while “Dancing With the Stars’” Keo Motsepe and Sharna Burgess danced together.

"Grease" actors speak about Australia

Colin Hay also performed the Men at Work hit song “Down Under.” Before the evening came to an end, Goldsmith, Newton-John, and Travolta all spoke about their love for Australia and what the gala meant to them.

Newton-John to take part in concert

Besides attending the gala, Newton-John will be taking part in a concert on February 16, 2020. The “Fire Fight Australia” concert will raise funds for the national bushfire relief and will be held in the country.
