Miranda Cosgrove, Joey Gaydos and Rest of 'School of Rock' Cast 17 Years After the Movie Was Released

Musical comedy "School of Rock" was one of the biggest projects that was released back in 2003. The show debuted at number 1 and grossed over $130 million around the world, raking in a profit of over $90 million.

The film cast, which was led by Jack Black and actress Joan Cusack was instantly accepted by fans all over the world. 

Since its release, fans have watched it over and over again with their friends and family as they can't get enough of it. To this day, the cast continues to get together for reunions and impromptu concerts.

Some of them are still in the entertainment business, while others have moved on to something different. Here is a look at some of the actors and actresses who starred in the movie and what they are doing now.

Jack Black

The Comedian is still very much active in the movie business. Since his "School of Rock" success days, Black has moved on to bigger projects. 

He appeared in the "Kung Fu Panda" and "Jumanji" series. Black's voice has also been used in video games, some of which include "BrokenAge" and "Goosebumps: Night of Scares." 

Black was also nominated for a Golden Globe for his excellent performance in the movie "Bernie," which was also directed by "School of Rock's" director Richard Linklater. Black's recent performance is in the new "Jumanji" series, "The Next Level."

Joan Cusack

Remember Joan Cusack? She played the role of Rosalie "Roz" Mullins, the strict and kind of goofy headmistress. She has also had some TV appearances after "School of Rock." 

Cusack has been nominated twice for an Academy Award (Best Actress in a Supporting Role for "Working Girl" in 1988 and "In & Out" in 1997. Since leaving the show, she's moved on to successful roles.

She was the voice of the cowgirl Jessie in the "Toy Story" series and received an Emmy in 2015 for her role in "Shameless," where she played the long-suffering Sheila.

Miranda Cosgrove

Miranda played the role of Summer Hathaway, the school rock band's manager who disliked Dewey (Jack Black) but later respected him. In 2007, Miranda starred in her own TV series, "iCarly" on Nickelodeon.

She reportedly became one of the highest-paid child TV actors, earning $180,000 per episode for the five years she appeared on the show. 

She later went to college and graduated from USC. Her biggest success has been in providing the voice for "Margo" in the "Despicable Me" franchise. She recently completed a new sci-fi movie that will hit the cinemas soon.

Caitlin Hale

Marta or Blondie, as Dewey always called her has not been on the big screen in a while. She attended college and obtained a degree in journalism and public relations.

Aleisha Allen

Allen played choir member Alicia, but Dewey simply referred to her as "Brace Face" because of obvious reasons. She also continued acting for a while until she went to college. 

Joey Gaydos

Gaydos played Zack "Zack-Attack" Mooneyham, who became lead guitarist of the rock band even though his father was against it. After filming the movie, he launched his music career and released a debut album in 2004.
