People: Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth's Divorce Is Finalized 13 Months after Their Wedding

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are officially single now that their divorce has been finalized 13- months after they announced their separation.

In a 13-month divorce process that took longer than Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's eight-month marriage lasted, the two are officially back on the market.

According to PEOPLE, legal documents revealed they were declared officially single on Tuesday. They both cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce.

Court papers also state both Cyrus and Hemsworth did not seek spousal support, and they did not have any "community property assets or liabilities" created during their eight-month marriage.

The former couple first met in 2009 while filming the movie "The Last Song," and they had an on and off relationship for several years before tying the knot in December 2018.

They are believed to have finalized their settlement a month ago when their attorney had filed their court documents. At the time, PEOPLE reported:

"Miley is relieved that she and Liam reached an agreement when it comes to the divorce. She just wants to move on."

Moving on hasn't been an issue for Cyrus or Hemsworth. Just weeks before Hemsworth filed for separation, she was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter. Months later, he also moved on to Dynasty star Madison Brown.

After both enduring short romances that went public quickly, but ended within months, Cyrus is now dating Cody Simpson, and Hemsworth is with Gabriella Brooks.

Their changing partners may have had something to do with the personal growth that might have caused thier divorce. Shortly after their split in August 2018, a representative for Cyrus explained:

"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."

At the time of their split Cyrus' statement noted that they had planned to remain "dedicated parents" to their animals.

According to TMZ, a source revealed that since Cyrus adopted most of the pets, they agreed in August 2019 that she would get custody of many them. Together the former couple had seven dogs, three cats, four horses, and a pig.
