The Oscar winner and her kids looked like they stepped out on the red carpet as they attended the 2017 U.N. Correspondents Association Awards. Angelina Jolie’s gown caught everyone’s attention too.
But it was not exactly her choice of outfit that turned everyone’s heads, it was her tattoos out in display. AmoMama gathered info from E! News.
The 42-year-old and her children with Brad Pitt went to the 2017 U.N. Correspondents Association Awards at the Cipriani Wall Street restaurant in New York City.
She was honored as the 2017 UNCA Global Citizen of the Year for her humanitarian work and as being the Special Envoy for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR).
She wore a strapless black and white gown with a long white train and long black gloves. Her classic look was reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood. As it was strapless, her tattoos on her shoulders and her back were spotted.
The actress is said to have about 20 tattoos. It included Gothic lettering that reads Know Your Rights, Buddhist incantation, Buddhist temple design, Buddhist temple design to remind the wearer to have mercy on oneself and others.
It also featured two lines of Arabic text, 2013, an Arabic script that means “Determination," and coordinates of locations where her children were born.
She was joined by her sons Pax, 14, and Knox, 9, and daughters Zahara,12, and Shiloh, 11. The eldest child, Maddox, and Knox’s twin sister, Vivienne, were noticeably absent.
