New mom and tennis star, Serena Williams appeared on the cover of Vogue but not without her four-month baby who got us all drooling.
AmoMama brings you the details of the super cute cover photo sourced from her Instagram page that got fans and followers showing love in Serena’s comments section.
Whether or not you love sports, you must have heard of the super-talented Serena tennis player Williams who has ranked her world No. 1 in singles on eight separate occasions over the last 15 years from 2002 to 2017.
She is such an ambitious woman that even the fact that she was 8 weeks pregnant didn’t stop her from winning the Australian Open in January 2017.
Since then she has gotten married to her billionaire Reddit co-founder husband, Alexis Ohanian and given birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian.
Serena and her cute daughter recently appeared as Vogue’s cover stars for the magazine’s February issue – a photo the tennis player shared on her Instagram page yesterday.
Her post got her fans all up in their feelings as they shared their excitement at the star’s astonishing achievements over the years – they were also awed by the beautiful picture Serena and four-month-old Alexis presented.
A commenter even wrote that Alexis is a ‘precious beautiful gorgeous gift from God’ who looks exactly like daddy.
In her caption of the post, Serena said that being on the cover of Vogue was a great achievement but being on it with her daughter – who is the youngest magazine cover star – made it much more special.
Serena did make some revelations about the health complications she faced after delivering her daughter, and the difficulties of motherhood.
The 36-year-old told Vogue that the problems started after Alexis Olympia's heart rate started to drop during her delivery and it was decided that the best option would be to have her undergo an emergency c-section.
After the birth, Serena started experiencing a shortness of breath and told the staff that she was concerned that she had developed blood clots which turned out to be true.
The hospital staff immediately administered a drip but when relentless coughing from her pulmonary embolism opened up the scar from the c-section, her abdomen quickly filled with her now-thinned blood from the same drugs which were saving her life.
In the end, Serena had to have a filter implanted into a major vein to prevent any possible clots from entering her lungs, and was forced to go on bed rest for the next six weeks.
Most fans noticed her absence from social media in the weeks following Alexis’ birth causing a huge relief when she was finally seen in public in mid-October when DailyMail.com obtained photos of her meeting with wedding planner Preston Bailey in New Orleans.
While we can’t wait to see more of her and her little cutey we do hope she’s perfectly healed now and won’t have any more issues in the future.
