A Utah woman has landed in hot water for trying to parent a teenage girl, Avery Leroy, in public. On April 20, 2024, Ida Ann Lorenzo was involved in an incident that's since gone viral. The incident occurred in the crowded entryway of Sakura Japanese Steakhouse.
A 36-second TikTok video on the mishap was caught by the friends of the teenage girl accosted by Lorenzo. The 48-year-old got into an altercation with the teenagers after stopping the 19-year-old. She berated and complained about the length of the child's skirt.

The Santa Clara resident later told the police that all she did was tug down Leroy’s miniskirt. She said the reason for her actions was that she felt the teenager's short skirt exposed her buttocks and private parts to the people in the lobby.
Lorenzo claimed even a young child was exposed to the teenage girl. In the clip, the older woman described herself, showed off her badge, and presented herself as a Utah state employee. She then threatened to call Child Protective Services (CPS) on the teenager.

A friend of the victim could be heard saying, "You do not get to touch her." After the footage of the incident went viral, Lorenzo was the first to get ahead of the issue.
She called 911 but alleged that she "never touched the female," and only handled the skirt. But the teenager also reached out, leading to an investigation.

In the affidavit, the officer who spoke to the Utah woman explained that what she did was still seen as her engaging in criminal behavior "by touching the female's clothing." The police officer mentioned to Lorenzo that her "behavior was not appropriate."
The accused, caught on the St. George police body camera, was repeatedly informed that touching someone in their private areas is against the law and it didn't matter if it was on their clothing. Lorenzo denied touching Leroy's skin.

In footage of her talking to the police, the Utah resident claimed what she was doing was "protecting the kid by covering their private parts." She also allegedly said to the teenager, "You're underage, you should probably hide that."
The officer talking to her informed her that it wasn't her job to ask others to cover up. At that point, the police officer informed Lorenzo that she was supposed to call them. In response, she alleged that she was trying to call authorities but couldn't because of the mob and commotion around her.

The woman even claimed she received a standing ovation from the people seated behind her after accosting the girl. When asked by the cop what she wanted him to do, she said she wanted the social media posts to be taken down.
The officer replied saying that there wasn't a crime committed because the girls were exercising their freedom of speech. The Utah resident felt the teenagers and their friends were harassing her and saying things about her in posts.

To this, the officer suggested she tell them to stop but Lorenzo felt it would further instigate them. The cop explained that if the woman told them to stop contacting her and they continued, that could be grounds for a criminal offense.
Lorenzo reached out to the police claiming the "little girls" were continuing to "incite a mob" and that they harrassed her "all day." The woman complained about Leroy removing the clip from Facebook and Instagram only to put it up on TikTok.

The policeman said his hands were tied because he couldn't tell the children to stop posting. Lorenzo also claimed the teenagers were using fake accounts to continue the harassment. Ultimately, the cop thought letting things blow over was the best recurse Lorenzo had.
In her statement, also caught by the St. George police body camera, the teenager disputed parts of Lorenzo's claims. The woman revealed that the teenagers were tagging some man who they hoped would find Lorenzo's private information.

She revealed to the investigating officer that the older woman accosted her. The teenage girl then claimed that the Utah woman pulled her miniskirt down from behind. Leroy said she "felt cold hands go up her skirt, touching her buttocks before she felt her skirt being pulled on."
She confessed to feeling violated and "startled" by the encounter. The teenager refuted that her private parts were exposed because she was wearing underwear. She also gave the investigating officer a video showing her spinning around while wearing the skirt to show it off.

Leroy was heard stating, "I had shorts under this." The teenage girl couldn't understand why the woman felt it was okay to touch her since she mentioned her being underage and not dressed in underwear.
After the incident was put in the spotlight, on April 24, 2024, Lorenzo was arrested. The woman was charged with sexual battery, a Class A misdemeanor the following day. On June 19, 2024, she made her first appearance in the 5th District Court.

Susanne Gustin, Lorenzo's lawyer, answered routine questions while her client stood quietly beside her. Lorenzo is set to make her next court appearance on July 30, 2024. A Class A misdemeanor in Utah is punishable by fines of up to $2,500 and up to a year in jail.
On the same day that she was charged, the woman lost her job at the Washington County's Utah Attorney General’s Office. However, she'd only worked for them for a few weeks as a legal secretary after being hired on March 4, 2024.

Her termination letter stated, "I am writing to inform you that you have not passed your probationary employment period successfully and today, April 25, 2024, you are being separated from state employment with the attorney general's office."
The letter further explained that the woman's "noncompliance with policies and standards related to performance contributed to this decision." Since losing her job, Lorenzo created a GoFundMe account to assist in supporting her family.

The stepmother had claimed the man mistreated her and convinced her husband to take her back, only to cheat on him again! One day, the Redditor saw her stepmother at a hotel pool with the same man. Instead of confronting her, she took photos and left.
Initially, she wanted to show the photos to her father right away but realized she could do more with them. Her father had always supported his wife and her children financially. The stepmother had landed a good job and was romantically involved with the company's owner.

This led her to almost own 30% of the company. Although the Redditor had no proof of the affair with the business owner, she decided to act. She called the company and asked to speak to the owner, informing him about the stepmother's affair.
The man's child also noted how her stepmother should have been at work. When he asked for proof, she sent him the photos. Meanwhile, she also knew the man from the pool was a member of her gym and was rumored to be selling steroids.

She falsely reported him to the gym management, claiming he tried to sell steroids to her, and canceled her membership, saying she felt unsafe. Her actions had significant consequences. The stepmother lost her job, and her dream of becoming a co-owner was crushed.
The gym management found an unregistered handgun in the man's locker and reported it to the police! The Redditor also showed the photos to her father, leading him to kick his wife out while keeping her children with him!

The stepmother was furious and accused the Redditor of ruining her life. The Redditor concluded her story by summarizing her actions: "I caught my dad's wife cheating. So I got her fired from her job, got her boyfriend arrested (oops), and now she holed up in a hotel."
