At 43, Kate made her first official visit to the Lincolnshire station in her role as Royal Honorary Air Commodore, a position she took on in August 2023.
Donning navy stilettos, she gracefully climbed the narrow steps to peer inside the cockpit of a fully armed Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon jet, demonstrating both poise and curiosity.
She also shared insights about her children, revealing that Louis is eager to become a fighter pilot. "I'm going to tell them it takes eight years and a lot of hard work!" she said.
While speaking with a group of children later, she humorously apologized to some for not wearing a dress during her visit.
Her day at RAF Coningsby began with a private briefing from Group Captain Paul O'Grady, Station Commander, and Warrant Officer Nikki Nolan, Station Warrant Officer, who detailed the base's activities over the past 18 months.
