The Duke of Sussex was approached by a stranger at two events during his last visit to the United Kingdom in September.

According to a report by the Telegraph from October 5, 2025, a woman came close to Prince Harry during two separate occasions while he was in London last month, and his security team had to act fast to prevent her from getting way too close.

The stranger, who was described as a "known stalker" of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is said to have mental health struggles. On September 9, she allegedly went into a "secure zone" at a hotel in London during the WellChild Awards, which is one of the charities Harry went to support during that week.

Several days later, she was seen even closer to the Duke while he attended the Centre for Blast Injury Studies. A member of Harry's staff recognized her from earlier run-ins and "body-blocked" her themselves, as there were no police at the event.

This person had also allegedly followed Harry and his wife to Abuja, Nigeria, in 2024. Although Scotland Yard refused to comment on the incidents to The Telegraph, a security source told People that these run-ins aren't unheard of for royal family members.

However, this was different because there was no police force or close protection for Harry. "It was left to two staffers from his private office to intervene. This time, they got lucky, recognizing the fixated individual. Relying on luck is not a long-term fix," the insider added.

Harry lost his appeal to bring back his state-funded security a few months earlier. This had been revoked when he and the Duchess of Sussex relocated to the United States in 2020.
