So, in honor of all the grandmothers out there who have kept us laughing through the years, here are seven jokes that are sure to bring a smile to your grandma’s face.

1. The Shakespeare Seat: 2-B or Not 2-B?

Years ago, my grandparents took me on a magical vacation to Disneyland.

As we boarded the plane, my grandma was practically bouncing in her seat. She turned to me with a twinkle in her eye.

“You’re so lucky, Liam!” she said. “You’ve got the Shakespeare seat!”

“Why is it the Shakespeare seat, Grandma?” I asked her, a little confused.

“You’re in seat 2-B, of course!” she exclaimed proudly, her enthusiasm almost infectious.

I couldn’t help but grin at my dear old gran.

“Don’t be silly, Grandma,” I said. “All the seats on this plane are Shakespeare seats.”

She raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued.

“How do you figure that?”

“Well, people are either sitting in seat 2-B or not 2-B.”

For a moment, she was silent. And then she burst into laughter so hearty it made the flight attendants glance over at us.

“I’ll tell you what, kiddo. You’ve got me there!” she chuckled, ruffling my hair.

2. Grandma Lives at the Airport

When my six-year-old little cousin was asked where our grandmother lived, he had a perfectly logical answer.

“Oh!” he said confidently. “Grandma lives at the airport. When we want her, we just go get her. Then, when we’re done having her visit, we take her back to the airport.”

We all laughed over the chocolate cake Grandma was holding. It was the pure, innocent logic of a child that made it so funny. For him, it made perfect sense.

After all, when Grandma came over, it was always after one of us had gone to the airport to pick her up.

But the idea of Grandma having her own house outside of the airport? Preposterous!

Now, I can’t help but wonder how many other grandkids out there think their grandmothers live in the magical land of terminals and baggage claims.

3. The Secret to Grandma’s Age

One day, my little brother, Henry, curious as ever, asked our grandmother a question.

“How old are you, Gran?” he asked, bouncing up and down while eating an ice cream.

Gran smiled slyly.

“A woman never reveals her age, dearest,” she said.

But Henry was not one to give up easily.

“All right, just give me the first digit then?” he said.

With a sigh, Gran relented.

“Six,” she sighed again.

“And the second?” he asked, clearly not satisfied with the answer.

Grandma took another deep breath.

“Seven,” she said.

Henry paused, then innocently proceeded.

“And the third digit?” he asked.

Grandma gave him a look that could stop time itself, a mix of exasperation and amusement.

“I think you’ve asked quite enough questions for today, young man. Keep asking, and there won’t be any more ice cream for you.”

My brother, undeterred, just grinned at Gran.

“I’ll get it out of you one day,” he said, laughter bubbling.

4. The Good Old Days

One thing about my grandmother is that she loves reminiscing about the past.

One day, she sat with a cup of tea and started talking about the good old days.

“Back in my day, we could leave the door unlocked and not worry about anything! We grew up with nothing, but we were happy. Those were the days, Emily.”

I couldn’t resist pointing out a little fact.

“Well, Grandma,” I said. “I hate to break it to you, but you grew up with nothing because you kept leaving the door unlocked!”

She looked at me, half-amused and half-offended.

“You young people think you know everything,” she huffed, but there was a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

“Maybe we did leave the door unlocked, but we didn’t have to worry about anyone taking anything. There wasn’t much to take!”

We both laughed, and I realized that maybe, just maybe, she had a point.

When times were simple, so were the pleasures. And maybe a little less concern about home security went around.

5. The Stork Story

My young cousin had a school project about childbirth, so naturally, he went to the most experienced person he knew: our grandmother.

“How was I born, Gran?” he asked.

Caught completely off guard, our grandmother hid a laugh.

“The stork brought you, Tim,” she said.

“Oh,” my cousin said, accepting this without question. “Well, how were Mom and Dad born then?”

“Um, the stork brought them too,” she said, now committing to her story. “And your grandpa and I were also brought by the stork as well.”

My cousin started writing his report, a plate of cookies and a glass of milk next to him. But it wasn’t long before he hit a snag.

“This report is really hard to write,” he grumbled loudly. “How am I supposed to answer this question? There hasn’t been a natural childbirth in our family for three generations!”

We couldn’t help but laugh at the seriousness with which he said it, and Gran gave me a wink.

“Well, sometimes the stork just needs a little help,” she whispered to me when Tim wasn’t listening.

That night, I imagined a whole flock of storks, busily delivering babies to families around the world.

6. The Singing Sensation

One day, my little sister was in her room, singing her heart out to her favorite song while she did her nails or wrote in her diary, the music meant that she shouldn’t be disturbed.

She was completely lost in the music, belting out each note like she was on stage at a sold-out concert.

Gran walked in and listened for a moment.

“Oh, Kelsey,” she said. “That was you? I thought it was the radio.”

My sister’s face lit up.

“And you came to listen to me, Granny?” she asked.

Without missing a beat, Grandma replied solemnly.

“No, I came to turn off the radio. The kittens are getting anxious from the noise.”

We all had to duck for cover to avoid the pillow that my sister hurled at Grandma.

Later, I found Grandma sitting in the kitchen with a bowl of walnuts, humming the same tune my sister had been singing.

“So, you did like her singing?” I teased.

“She’s got potential. She just needs more practice,” Gran laughed.

7. The Pricey Hearing Aid

My dad was visiting Gran when she proudly announced that she had bought the most expensive hearing aid in the pharmacy.

“It’s the best one you can buy!” she said. “It cost me $4,000.”

My dad, always one to ask the practical questions, looked at Gran curiously.

“What kind is it?” he asked. “Like the brand, Mom?”

Grandma looked at her watch and squinted.

“It’s 4:15 p.m., Derek,” she said.

My dad burst out laughing, but Grandma just shrugged.

“What can I say? It works for me.”

The funny thing is, sometimes when Gran didn’t have the fancy hearing aid on, she always knew what was going on, even if we thought she couldn’t hear us.

1. Dear Old George's Annual Check-Up

Without fail, George went for his annual check-up every year. He prided himself on staying fit and healthy by going on walks in the neighborhood, though age had taken its toll on his eyesight.

After his check-up, George sat and chattered with his doctor, proudly telling Dr. Stephens about his latest discovery.

"Doc, I'm blessed," he said. "God knows my eyesight is going, so he puts on the light when I pee, and turns it off when I'm done!"

The doctor chuckled, but a nagging curiosity led him to call George’s wife later that day.

"Maria," he said. "Your husband's test results are just fine. But he said something strange! He claims that God turns the lights on and off for him when he uses the bathroom at night."

George's wife laughed out loud.

"That old fool! He's been peeing in the refrigerator again! I thought it was the dog!"
