Halsey Recalls Miley Cyrus Fleeing Her House Party With Postmates During Police Visit
The "Without Me" singer looked back on one of her more chaotic house party memories, involving police, a legal-sounding argument, and Miley Cyrus making a quick exit with food in hand.
During the May 26, 2026, episode of the "Friends Keep Secrets" podcast, Halsey told the story of hosting parties that looked far more social from the outside than they felt to her in the moment.

Halsey Says Police Tried to Shut Down Her Party
Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, recalled being drunk when police arrived at one of her house parties and asked to speak with the owner. "Well, I guess that's me cause I just bought the house," she remembered saying.
The 31-year-old said she went outside to speak with the officers, who told her the party needed to end. Halsey, however, was not convinced. According to the singer, the officers claimed she was "breaking the law," which prompted her to ask exactly which law they meant. She said:
"I don't know what happened to me. I switched on."

The singer then began listing reasons she believed the party was within legal limits, including sound rules, fire code, street parking, and the number of people inside the home. "So what law am I breaking?" she asked.
The officers, according to Halsey, replied that she was breaking "the law of common sense." "That's not a real law. See you later, officers," she said she told them.

Miley Cyrus Made a Quick Exit
As the interaction with police came to an end, Halsey said she turned around and spotted Miley Cyrus making a quick exit from the party. "Miley Cyrus is running out the door," she recalled, adding that the "Flowers" singer had a bag of Postmates with her. According to Halsey, Cyrus told her before making her exit:
"Got to go, girl. Got to go."

The moment gave the story an even more chaotic finish, with Cyrus leaving the party as Halsey finished arguing with the officers outside. Elsewhere in the episode, Halsey compared herself to Jay Gatsby from "The Great Gatsby," explaining that she used to throw parties only to retreat to her bedroom.
"I would throw a party, I'd hang out in my bedroom most of the time, and then everyone would leave and I would be like, 'I did it. I socialized and now everybody is going to like me,'" the singer revealed.
Halsey Has Also Been Candid About Her Music Career
The podcast story came after Halsey opened up last year about the pressure surrounding her music. The singer released her most recent studio album, "The Great Impersonator," in 2024, but later said she was not in a position to make another album right away.
During a September interview with Zane Lowe, Halsey said the project did not perform the way others had hoped, even though it sold 100,000 copies in its first week.

She argued that those numbers would be considered strong for many artists, especially in a music era where physical sales are no longer the norm. Still, she said the album was being measured against the success of her earlier pop peak, including "Manic" and the hit song "Without Me."
Halsey described that comparison as one of the hardest parts of having once been a major pop star. "And that's the hardest part of having been a pop star once, because I'm not one anymore," she said.
Now, whether talking about music industry expectations or a party that nearly got shut down, Halsey seems willing to tell the story exactly as she remembers it.
