A Personal Mission Takes Shape

“I’ve been an actress for going on two decades, and I love what I do, but I’ve always had a dream of helping in a bigger way,” Hale said. “WFP is the largest hunger relief program in the world, so it’s an honor to get to use my voice and platform to help others and encourage other people to do the same.”

Hale began working with the organization in 2024. Her involvement has since grown into a formal ambassador role, allowing her to take on more responsibility.

A Connection Rooted in Family

Hale’s interest in the organization’s mission is tied to her personal background. She explained that her family experiences shaped her perspective on issues like food access and community support.

“My dad is a farmer, and my mom is a nurse, so I feel really passionate about supporting women and children,” she admitted. “If countries and nations are starving, they can’t thrive. WFP not only gives food to people in need, but they also teach the locals how to farm their own food.”

Expanding Her Role

As a global ambassador, Hale plans to become more directly involved in the organization’s work. This includes traveling to see its programs in action and sharing those experiences with a wider audience.

“I am going to go on trips and see firsthand the work that WFP does,” she said. “But a lot of my work will be amplifying their efforts and advocating for the things that they’re doing. I know how important my platform is and that even the smallest things can make a difference— getting the word out about what WFP has been doing for over 60 years.”

Her role will focus heavily on raising awareness and encouraging public engagement.

The Power of Influence

Hale believes that even small actions can create wider change. She pointed to the potential ripple effect that comes from sharing information and encouraging others to get involved.

“Someone can look at what I post, and they can get inspired, and the ripple effect of it is just really beautiful,” she said. “It feels great to be part of something that’s truly making a difference.”

Her approach reflects a broader understanding of how public figures can influence awareness and participation.

A Longtime Goal Fulfilled

The opportunity also marks a personal milestone for Hale. She described the role as something she has been seeking for years. To her, becoming a global ambassador is an honor of a lifetime.

“I hope this becomes a long and lasting partnership,” she shared. She added that the experience feels especially meaningful at this stage in her life.

“I feel emotional about this because I’ve always wanted to do more,” Hale admitted. “I’m 36 now, and the last couple of years I’ve just felt called to something bigger than myself, and I never really knew what that was. I just knew the universe would provide the path to go down, and it’s such an honor to be put into this position.”

Lucy Hale’s new role with the World Food Programme represents a shift toward purpose-driven work. By using her platform to raise awareness and support global efforts, she is taking steps toward a goal she has held for years. The position reflects both her personal values and her commitment to making a broader impact.
