The former Spice Girls star discussed family life during an appearance on Emma Grede’s “Aspire” podcast, where she pushed back against suggestions that she and husband David Beckham built their family around publicity and endorsements.

Brooklyn, 27, previously accused his parents of prioritizing image and media narratives in a series of explosive social media posts earlier this year.

Now, Victoria is offering her clearest response yet.

Victoria Beckham Addresses ‘Brand Beckham’ Comments

During the podcast interview, Victoria said the idea of “Brand Beckham” was largely created by outsiders and not something she and David intentionally built behind the scenes.

“We have very different interests,” Victoria explained. “I think it was the outside world that really talked about Brand Beckham, that’s never really how we saw it. We’re just doing what we do.”

She also pointed out that both she and David already had successful careers and endorsement deals before they met. David Beckham was one of the world’s most recognizable soccer players, while Victoria rose to global fame as part of the Spice Girls.

Her comments appeared to directly respond to Brooklyn’s earlier criticism in which he claimed his family “valued public promotion and endorsements above all else” and said “Brand Beckham always comes first.”

Victoria Says She Has Always Tried to Protect Her Children

Victoria also spoke about motherhood and insisted she has always tried to shield her children from outside pressures.

“Our children have had a very different upbringing to myself and David and I think the world is also a very different place now then to what it was when they were younger,” she said. “We’ve always tried to protect the children as much as we can, we’ve always been very close.”

The fashion designer later rejected suggestions that she has been overly controlling or demanding as a parent. She discussed wanting her children to be both hardworking and kind, focusing on being the best mother she can be and look after her children in the way she knows how.

The fashion designer concluded that as a mother, she feels her job is to help her children reach their full potential. "It’s never about being pushy, it’s about being there to support," she furhter explained.

She added that parenting adult children comes with different challenges compared to raising younger kids. “I think it’s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children,” Victoria said. “I’m just trying to do the best that I can, you know. It’s my job to make sure my kids are the best versions of themselves.”

Brooklyn Beckham’s Public Criticism Shocked Fans

The comments come months after Brooklyn Beckham publicly criticized his family in a series of social media posts that sparked widespread attention online.

In his statements, Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling narratives about the family in the press and claimed he grew up with “overwhelming anxiety.”

“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” Brooklyn wrote.

He also alleged that family members had made actress Nicola Peltz, his wife, feel unwelcome. Brooklyn further claimed that David and Victoria had attempted to “endlessly ruin my relationship” with Nicola.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he said. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

The posts quickly became one of the biggest celebrity family stories of the year and fueled speculation about the status of the Beckham family relationship.

David and Victoria Have Stayed Publicly Silent Amidst Claims

Despite Brooklyn’s accusations, David and Victoria Beckham have not directly addressed his social media posts in public interviews or statements. Instead, the couple has continued making public appearances and focusing on their professional projects.

The pair have also continued appearing publicly with their other children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, as well as Romeo and Cruz’s partners.

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz began dating in 2019 before marrying three years later.

Since then, rumors of tension between Nicola and parts of the Beckham family have repeatedly surfaced online, though family members have rarely commented publicly about the situation.

Victoria Beckham’s latest remarks now offer the clearest insight yet into how she views both parenting and the public perception surrounding her family.

While she stopped short of directly criticizing Brooklyn, her comments appeared aimed at countering claims that she and David prioritized image over family life.

As the public feud continues to attract attention, neither Brooklyn nor Nicola has responded to Victoria’s latest interview comments.
